The commercial commissioning of RWE Gas Storage West's first hydrogen storage facility at its site in Gronau-Epe is planned for July 1, 2027. Once it has been fully commissioned, a planned injection and withdrawal capacity of 50,000 m3/h each with a working gas volume of around 38 million m3 will be commercially usable.

A market survey was conducted from February 24 to March 28, 2025 in order to align the marketing process and product design as closely as possible with customer needs.
