Close to the major long-distance gas pipelines in Gronau-Epe, RWE Gas Storage West operates three facilities for different gas grades at one of the most attractive storage sites. With its five caverns, our Epe DE storage facility makes an important contribution to security of supply in Germany. The storage facility is connected to the German transmission network operated by Open Grid Europe within the Trading Hub Europe (THE) market area.
The storage Epe DE facility (formerly Epe L-Gas) was fully converted to H-Gas for storage use as part of the German market area transition on 1 April 2026.
